Riverside - The Farnsley-Mormen House

The Farnsley-Moremen House is a testament to the history of agriculture and trading along the Ohio River. Built circa 1837, this stately red brick house represents a transition between Federal and Greek Revival architectural styles, with a two-story Greek Revival portico and an incredible view of the river.

Throughout the 19th century the Farnsley-Moremen House operated an active riverboat landing and a large farming operation. The landing was a place from which to trade goods with passing riverboats and to operate a ferryboat for much of the 1800s transporting people and goods between Kentucky and Indiana.
